About the Artist

This series is inspired by the intriguing concept of spirits and places, and I explore how they fit in our world. I delve into pure emotion, allowing my subconscious thoughts to come out in forms of brushstrokes on my canvas. My favorite artist is Richard Diebenkorn and I think he would approve of my new artworks. Each painting becomes a contemplation on peace and human connection and is painted on the canvas in hope of harmonizing our world. I want my art to challenge the world and make it a catalyst for change. What the world needs now is peace. I am entering the last quadrant of my life. My life’s journey has been art, no matter where you find it. I find it in my daily life, my paintings, my garden, and my every living moment. I started out helping people as an X-ray technician. I soon found out that a painting could produce comfort and emotional aspects that cannot be found doing anything else. I came from a small, “ blue collar” town with a factory, a school and church, a grocery store and three taverns and everything I experienced was in a few block radius. Now I have traveled the world and found small corners of the world that needed my touch. My paintings do that, they touch each individual with a feeling of peace. Remember we can only do so much in our lifetime. I want to tell every person I have meet, how important they are in the world. An act of kindness spreads rapidly and I try to put kindness in my works of art. I feel I am doing my part in this small world where we are all one.
