Marisa has enjoyed creating artwork since childhood.  She pursued the arts throughout her educational career and has a bachelor degree in fine art. 

Marisa has been painting with acrylics on canvas, exploring abstract, semi-abstract and semi-realism expressive artwork. 

Marisa has developed several series.  The most expansive is entitled COLORSCAPES.  These range in style from semi realistic to abstract.  They are created from photographs or her mind’s eye, utilizing perceived horizons, sunsets and waterscapes to pure juxtaposition of colors.  These artworks have been described as colorful, bright, exciting, yet also soothing and peaceful. 

Marisa uses brushes for the paintings that have soft blending of color and palette knives for some of her paintings, layering colors.  Some paintings are completed with a combination of both brush work and palette knives. 

Marisa loves to travel and utilizes photos taken from around the world for inspiration.  She loves horizons, water, sunsets and all of nature and is continually trying to capture its beauty, stillness and peace through texture and color within her paintings. Her works have a contemporary flare displaying her eye for simple lines, symmetry and balance of color.
