About the Artist

Rene Culler, a colorist, works as a maker--primarily in glass; including sculpture, kiln casting, fusing of multi-layered panelwork, and vitreous painting. Blown glass is inspired by Venetian technique, form and pattern. Culler's Mobile Museum of Art installation, "The Alabama Delta: Glass and Light" promoted her love of beauty in nature as seen in Alabama. Her themes are the celebration of light through color, and the transcience of beauty through the passage of time. Culler has a BFA and MFA in Glass. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and is a Fulbright Research Fellow. Her work can be found in numerous museums including the Smithsonian.
