Margo Balcerek was Born in Poland and moved to the United States in the early eighties and earned her degree in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University. North Carolina has been her home for the last fifteen years. Her paintings express deep passion and love of the garden and landscape. Her favorite media is oils.
Artist Holland Berkley’s goal in creating her art is to convey a sense of mystery and awe. To describe her art is, in itself, a challenge. Her human forms, abstracted rather than literal, are placed in an environment of graphic symbols and universal patterns derived from studies of primitive cultures.
James Gill was one of the standouts among the pop artists. He experienced a rapid ascent in the art world, getting his work into major collections such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art and receiving commissions such as the cover of Time Magazine in 1968. Over the decade that followed, James Gill became an icon in the pop art world.
As a very young artist, at 25 years old, Huallpa was doing so well that he reversed the normal trend, at least in South America, which is from being an artist to being an art teacher. He graduated from the School of Arts as an Art Professor and had the chance to practice for a lapse of time at the well known school Maria Parado de Bellido.
Born in the city of Shiraz, Iran in 1951, Hessam Abrishami was the son of middle class parents and one of eight brothers and sisters. At age 15, through the inspiration and encouragement of a high school teacher, Hessam discovered both his love of art and his own talent for painting. As a result he became almost obsessed with painting.
I use in-depth expression in my work to relate interpersonal stories of lost love, hope, fear, desire, dedication, wistful remembrances and more. The faces I paint are symbolically reminiscent of vague and vintage dream landscapes which focus on the metaphoric mood and flow of each person’s individual story.
Michael Steirnagle has been both a teacher of art and an illustrator. He served as an associate professor at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. His figurative paintings are currently available from Chasen Galleries.
