Exploring the Depths of Perception
Jean Kazandjian reconsiders the idea of perspective in art. This has led him to explore the various operations aimed at the suggestion of depth. Among the techniques used in his paintings, we can mention the interplay between superimposed layers, the exploration of a veiling-effect where the opaque painted surface is sheathed by a translucid screen. A restless dialectic of destruction and reconstruction is thus brought about, as the process of figurative invention is inscribed within a dynamism of abstraction.
