KERRY HALLAM — American artist, Kerry Hallam, mixes European style with plenty of maritime inspiration in his brilliant paintings.
Kerry Hallam's art is noted for its power to evoke emotion. "I try to arrive at a definitive statement, a kernel of a landscape, or an experience which is universal in appeal," he says. "I'm communicating a particular feeling about something to as wide an audience as I can, so I have to use a simple language which has an immediate value in that it immediately communicates."
His paintings are experiences in light and color, depicting nautical and European-flavored experiences and Nantucket influences. The Fauvist qualities of Hallam's work blend uniquely with the flavors of the Nantucket Wine Festival. Each year, the festival exhibits a beautiful print created by Hallam. The original is auctioned off to help support the festival.
A walk through the studio of Kerry Hallam is evidence that creativity can be boundless. The walls exhibit the colorful work for which heis internationally known and black and white photographs of his daughter, Karyad Brae, who, at age 10, appears to be following her own artistic journey.
